Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you contact us or use our forms, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
01 Who we are
Online Flute Classes (OnlineFluteClasses.com) is run by Sriharsha Ramkumar (SRK), a Carnatic flautist and teacher offering live online group classes for students in India, one-on-one online lessons for international students, and recorded courses on CarnaticFlute.in. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Online Flute Classes.
02 Information we collect
When you join the India waitlist or apply for international lessons, we collect the details you choose to share: the learner’s name and, if the learner is under 18, a parent or guardian’s name; email address; WhatsApp number; city, state or country; time zone; age range; musical background and current level; whether you own a Carnatic flute and, optionally, its scale and number of holes; your preferred batch or lesson time; how you would like us to contact you; and any message you write. If you contact us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive the information you send there.
03 How we use your information
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry or application, assess whether a batch or lesson slot is a suitable fit, schedule classes, share class links and learning materials (such as PDF notes), and send updates related to your classes. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated advertising.
04 Consent
By submitting a form and ticking the consent box, you agree to be contacted about Carnatic flute classes and related learning opportunities. You can withdraw this consent at any time by writing to us, and we will stop contacting you except where needed to complete an ongoing class arrangement.
05 Services we use
To run classes and handle enquiries, we use trusted third-party services: Framer (website hosting and form handling), Google (Google Sheets for organising submissions and Google Meet for group classes), our email service (for correspondence), Microsoft Teams (for some one-on-one lessons) and WhatsApp (for messaging). These services process data under their own privacy policies. Recorded courses are provided through CarnaticFlute.in, which has its own terms.
06 Online classes
Classes take place over live video calls. We do not record sessions without telling you first. Please join from a private space and avoid sharing sensitive personal information during class.
07 Children
Our India batches are designed for adult beginners, and our one-on-one international lessons are open to children as well. If a learner is under 18, a parent or guardian should fill in the form, share their own name and contact details, and give consent on the learner’s behalf. We use a child’s details only to arrange and run their lessons, and a parent or guardian can ask us to correct or delete them at any time.
08 How long we keep your information
We keep your details only as long as needed to respond to you, manage the waitlist or your lessons, and keep basic records. If you are not enrolled, or you ask us to delete your information, we will remove it from our records within a reasonable time.
09 Your rights
Under applicable data protection laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, email us at the address below.
10 Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to it. However, no online service is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information such as financial details through the website forms.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated.
